Linda M. Ritter

Linda grew up in Rocky River, Ohio, attended Miami University, graduating with a BS in Education in 1959. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Washington, D.C. and moved to Columbus to teach in the Columbus Public Schools in 1961. She earned a MA in Education in 1966 from Ohio State University and loved OSU football. She continued at Westgate Elementary until 1980 when she completed certification as a school counselor. She was the guidance counselor at Westmoor and Starling Middle Schools until retirement in 2004. As a lifelong learner, she completed an additional 16 courses at OSU through Program 60. Linda used her summers to travel visiting every continent except Antarctica. Linda has been an active member of First Community Church since 1965, serving in many capacities especially in the Missions programs. She was especially devoted to the Deep Griha mission in Pune, India.

Linda will be greatly missed by her sister, Frances Ritter Wainwright; nephew, Kirk Loren Jordan and wife Rhonda; niece Jonni Linda Wainwright Allen; great nieces and nephews, Karli Jordan, Amber Clement, Brandon Jordan, Tyler Allen, Blake Allen and Bayli Allen.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at First Community Church-South Campus, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus, OH 43212.
