

Lois Jean grew up in west Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from West High School in 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, Louis, that same year. On January 25, 1945, Jean gave birth to their first child, Carole Jeanne. Their second child, David Eugene, arrived in June of 1949. Finally, their third child, Lisa Kathleen, was born on January 28, 1964.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mamie (Hess) Park Sr.; husband, Louis Eugene Lowery; brother, Edward Paul Park Jr.; son, David Eugene Lowery; and her daughter, Carole Jean Copenhaver. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lisa Kathleen Lowery; grandchildren, Tammy Lynn Baker and Tracey Lynn Cureton; great-grandchildren, Valerie Ann Smith, Terrie Ann Helton, Courtney Nicole Blum, and Kelsey Taylor Miller; Great-great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ashley Powers, Jace and Teah Helton, and Remington Blum.
In the early 1960s, Louis enrolled in the Cincinnati Bible Seminary to study to be a minister. Lois Jean went to work while her husband worked on his Doctorate in Theology. She termed her time at being the bread winner as earning her "Ph.T" degree - Putting hubby Through . Following Seminary, the couple ministered at Madeira Church of Christ near Cincinnati, Ohio; then, Grape Grove Church of Christ near Jamestown, Ohio. The couple retired from the ministry in 1989 and moved back to Columbus.
Lois Jean was an accomplished pianist and organist and accompanied the congregations in the singing of hymns during church services. She also led many Christmas cantatas to the enjoyment of the parishioners. She was also an accomplished artist and created many Bible illustrations through her beautiful live chalk drawings while Louis narrated the story.
In her later years, Lois Jean enjoyed living at the Worthington Christian Village ("WCV") in Columbus, Ohio, where she spent countless hours volunteering on the assisted-living floor visiting residents and treating them to snacks from the Sunshine Cart. She also loved to make crafts and donated many more hours of her time creating beautiful holiday gifts to sell at the annual Holiday Bazaar, with proceeds going to the Worthington Christian Village Auxiliary.
When she moved to the skilled nursing floor at WCV, she enjoyed playing Bingo, making crafts, and being on the receiving end of the Sunshine Cart treats.
Lois Jean was a dutiful wife and an amazing mother and grandmother, who loved her husband, her children and grandchildren, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
