Lonny Joe Aleshire

Pastor Lonny Aleshire Sr., 78, joined our Lord on July 25th, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio, following his long battle with multiple medical complications. Despite his physical pain, Lonny's spirits remained joyful, evidencing his enduring faith in God's ability to work in even the most difficult of circumstances.

Lonny will be most remembered by his passion for sharing the Gospel to all he met. Spanning 38 years, 3 churches, and countless congregants, Lonny provided guidance, wisdom, love, and kindness to all with whom he came in contact. He was a life-long student of Scripture; first becoming ordained in the Baptist Church and then becoming an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. Lonny left a legacy of relentless service, even sharing his faith with nurses and doctors during hospital stays.

Lonny is preceded in death by his daughter, Lonna Aleshire-Sunkle, and parents Joseph Aleshire and Betty Aleshire (Adrian) Elkins. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Donna Aleshire; son, L. Joe (Susan) Aleshire Jr.; grandchildren, Josh (Lauren) Aleshire, Faith (Daniel) Longenecker, Caleb (Melanie) Aleshire, and Luke Aleshire; brother, Daniel (Jo Ellen) Aleshire; many nieces and nephews; and Michael Bryan (Trina) Clem.

ARRANGEMENTS ENTRUSTED TO SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST. Visitation will be held at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 425 S. Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-7pm. Lonny's funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place the following morning at 10am at Hebron Cemetery, located off Hebron road and SR-40, in Hebron, OH 43025.
