Lori Ann Phillips, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away on July 5th, 2016. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to Phil and Marlene Ralston in 1952. Lori spent her entire life living in Columbus. She graduated from Whetstone High School in 1970, and she continued her education at The Ohio State University where she obtained her Master’s in Education. Her professional life was spent teaching for the Worthington School District for 31 years. The majority of these years were spent at Perry Middle School teaching English. Her students will remember her as a teacher who truly cared for every one of them and as someone would listen to them with an open heart. She truly was loved by her students. Her greatest pleasure in life, other than teaching, was traveling throughout the world with her husband Greg Phillips, who also taught at Perry Middle School. Anyone who knew Lori would tell you that her smile was contagious. She was always positive and living “in the now.” Lori and Greg truly believed that life was, “all about the ride.” This ride took them too many islands in the Caribbean, their favorite being the island of St. John where Lori and Greg had a second home (their favorite place to be). She also enjoyed including her grandchildren in these travels, as well as spending time with them at home. They called her their KiKi. Lori is survived by her loving husband, Gregory; children, Gennifer (Jeff) Phillips, Michael Phillips, Alana Veach, Chad (Samantha) Fell and Zakary Phillips; grandchildren, Breanna, Victoria, Alexa and Ethan. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Lori’s memory to Nationwide Children’s Hospital P.O. Box 16810 Columbus, Ohio 43216 or [email protected].
