

Louise Ambos McMahon, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 20, 2009. Survived by son David McMahon, daughter-in-law Diana McMahon, step-daughter Carol Jean Mitchell (Jim), grandchildren Kristen McMahon, Lauren McMahon, Misti Mitchell Plank (Jeff), Jimmy Mitchell (Elizabeth), great-grandchildren Kameron Plank, Brenden Plank, and Jenniva Mitchell, nieces and nephews Loretta Wilhelm Dutko (Duke), Arlene Ambos Quinn (Brian), Robert Ambos, Fred Ambos (Barbara), cousins Helen Hoffman Jack and Wilma Jooss Lyndsay and their children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Edward McMahon, brothers Karl and Paul Ambos, sister Lena Wilhelm, and nephew Ronald Ambos. Louise (“Aunt Lee”) was born March 22, 1920 in Stuttgart, Germany, emigrated with her family to America in 1923, and settled in Columbus, Ohio. She was a Charter Member of the German Village Society, a member of Grace United Church of Christ for over 40 years, and worked for Columbus Green Cabs/United Transportation for more than 50 years. Her love, loyalty, and gentle ways endeared her to family and friends alike. Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Grace United Church of Christ, 1226 Shady Lane Rd., Columbus, OH 43227, preceded by a “Kaffee Klatsch” (coffee & chat) gathering and welcoming time at 10:00 am.
