Lucy Kindred Herrmann

She was born July 4, 1928 in Dallas, Texas to the late Wendell and Lucy (Wharton) Kindred. She was a 1945 graduate of Highland Park High School and a 1949 graduate of Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity.

Becky met her future husband, Arthur Herrmann, while visiting her sister in Columbus. They were wed on April 7, 1951. Becky devoted her life to her husband and three daughters.

Active in the Columbus community, Becky held fond memories of the years she served on the boards of The West Side and Ohio Avenue Day Care Nursery, the Pi Beta Phi House Corporation at The Ohio State University and The Columbus Association for Performing Arts. Becky was also active with the Columbus Museum of Art and served as a member of their Women's Board. An accomplished fisherman, Becky loved being with her family at the Castalia Trout Club. Becky was a Texan at heart and will be missed by her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Peters Whilden, she is survived by her brother, Thomas W. Kindred and cousin, Gene (Robert) Rain of Dallas. Becky will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Arthur Dominey Herrmann; daughters Lucy (Samuel, Jr.) Porter, Anne (Gregory) Smith and Martha (Michael) McCarthy; grandchildren, Samuel (Sandi) Porter III, Anne (Charles) French, Charles Phillips IV, Lucy Phillips, Katherine Parker and Abigail Parker; step-grandchildren Justin (Lauren) Smith, Meghan (Jesse) Banuelos, Taylor McCarthy, Brian McCarthy, Maureen McCarthy and Patrick McCarthy (deceased); step-great-grandchildren Lily, Madeline and Graycen Smith; great-grandson Samuel Porter IV.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 29 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Scioto Country Club, 2196 Riverside Drive, Columbus, Ohio. A private service will be held in Dallas, Texas where she will be laid to rest along side her parents.
