

Luther A. George, age 92, of Columbus, OH passed away April 1, 2014 at home. He was born November 11, 1921 in Nashville, TN to the late Luther and Minnie George; also preceded in death by his wife Philomena (Steahley) George. He was a member of the Coast Guard Reserves during WWII and worked for the Glenn L. Martin Co. where he built B-26 Bombers. Luther went on to work for TWA, Capital Airlines and then in 1947 he joined the American Airlines family, where he remained until his retirement in October of 1982. He was a member of the American Airlines 3 Diamond Society which honors employees with 30 years service. Luther was a postcard collector and a member of the Heart of Ohio Postcard Club. He was also a railroad buff, with memberships including the CandO Historical Society, the LandN Historical Society, the National Model Railroad Association and the Central Electric Rail Fans Association. Luther is survived by close friends Karen and Dick Argo and their sons Andrew Argo and Tyler (Michelle) Argo. Private cremation services entrusted to Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 with inurnment at Kingwood Memorial Park.
