Lydia "Dolly" Althoff

Lydia “Dolly” Althoff Souder, age 93, of Gahanna, OH passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at Traditions at Stygler Road. Dolly was a graduate of Lincoln High School and was a life member of Peace Lutheran Church, where at one point she had served as President of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed memberships with the Gahanna Civic Club, the Columbus Maenerchor and took pleasure in the trips that she and her husband Paul took with the Gypsy Travelers. Her daughters remember the role she played as a Girl Scout leader and a 4H leader. Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Paul Souder, in 2006; also her granddaughter, Krista Donohue; brother, Charles F. Althoff and sisters, Lucille Poth and Gladys Althauser; Survived by daughters, Charlotte Souder and Barbara (Rick Smith) Donohue; grandsons, Trent (Jennifer) Donohue and Kevin Donohue; great-grandchildren, Marin, Grayson and Farah; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 1-4pm Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna and 1 hour prior to service at church. Funeral Service 10:30 am Monday, February 8, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Rd., Gahanna, with Pastor Kai Nilsen officiating; Interment in Mifflin Twp. Cemetery.
