Lynn was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 23, 1953, the daughter of John Boggs and Barbara (Gilchrist) Boggs. Lynnie and her sisters, Susie (Lime) and Francie (Kowal), grew up in Grandview Heights, moving to Upper Arlington during their elementary school years. They were a close family often getting together with extended family. They were always laughing.
When attending Bowling Green University Lynnie Boggs met Rod Ebright. They were married on May 24, 1975. Lynn and Rod recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. When she passed, he was there at her side.
Lynn had a deep love for her family. She loved her many cousins and doted on her nieces and nephews. This love was elevated when she and Rod started a family of their own. Her children Jonathan and Francie (Wooster) were loved beyond measure. She raised her children to smile often, laugh easily, and to care about other people. Lynn was delighted when her children started families of their own. Lynn was enthusiastic and beloved as a mother-in-law to Alicia (Ebright) and James (Wooster). Lynn took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren, Annielynn, Jonathan, and Edgar. Just as Lynn had grown up, she created a family that loved being together.
Lynnie was a truly remarkable person. In addition to being quick with a compliment, smile and laugh, Lynn was known to be a hard-worker and a well-liked manager. After spending her teenage years working at her father’s drug store, she began working at Huntington National Bank. At 19 years of age, her first position was as a substitute teller. With great skill and style, for the next 30 years Lynn worked her way up the male-dominated industry eventually serving as Senior Vice President. Her professional accomplishments during that time are many, but it was the lifelong friendships she made working at the bank that she valued the most.
After leaving the banking industry, Lynn went back to school and then took her professional talents to First Community Church and Worthington United Methodist Church. Through it all, one of Lynn’s greatest professional joys was working as the Coordinator for the Heart to Heart Food Pantry. In every capacity Lynn loved supporting the people around her.
Later in life, Lynn was an avid gardener, spending countless hours tending to her flowerbeds and vegetables. She especially loved her many orchids, her spider plants, black-eyed Susans, her rose bushes, and peonies.
Lynn was a true connoisseur of all things entertainment, finding joy and connection through the stories and melodies that filled her life. Whether it was music, books, movies, TV shows, or her beloved Broadway shows, Lynn loved stories of people overcoming obstacles and finding friendship and humor along the way.
All the things Lynn loved were enjoyed even more when shared with her family and friends. Lynn’s close friends and their families felt like family to her and she maintained those relationships her entire life.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as a generous, bright, loving, and beautiful woman who brought joy to our lives. To celebrate Lynn’s life, we will gather at 1pm on Sunday July 20th 2025 at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221. Calling hours will immediately follow from 2 to 4pm. To celebrate Lynn by reflecting her vibrant spirit, the family asks attendees to wear bright, joyful colors.
