Mabel E Shoup

Mabel E. Shoup, 93, of Columbus, died Monday, March 16, 2015. She was born November 13, 1921 in Columbus to the late Spencer and Mamie (Nichols) Tompkins. Mabel was a member of North Park Church of Christ and had retired after 25 years from FandR Lazarus. She was a great seamstress and a great cook. She loved going to church and out to eat afterwards. She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Shoup, siblings Banford Tompkins and Hazel I. Arthur and Hazel's son Harold L. Thompson, a U.S. Navy veteran. Mabel is survived by siblings Meredith A. Tompkins and Howard (Jewell Gaye) Starn, nephews Kelley (Linda) Arthur and Bill (Sylvia) Arthur, whom she loved very much, great nephews Ryan Arthur, Darren Arthur, great niece Robin (Shawn) Murdock, other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and church family. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 20, 2015 with calling from 10 AM until time of service at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to North Park Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 4938 Westerville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231.
