

Mabel Marie Lewis Williams, age 90, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011. She was born on August 31, 1920 to the late Sarah Reed and Guy Evans. She is predeceased by husbands, Richard K. Lewis, Sr. and Frank Williams; daughter, Sarah Garrett; son, Richard K. Lewis, Jr.; sister, Betty Bailey; and son-in-law, Roger Garrett, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Betty (Phillip) Peaks, Columbus, Ohio; sister, Greathel Robinson, Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Roger Garrett III, Alpharetta, GA; Tina Peaks, Columbus, Ohio, Richard Lewis, Tampa, FL, Tia Goodlett (Taz) Columbus, Ohio, Jonathan Lewis, Tampa, FL, Alicia Garrett, Columbus, Ohio, and Phillip (PJ) Peaks, Columbus, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Savaughn Peaks, Malik Lewis, Aniya Lewis, Keinnan Peaks, Mia Goodlett, and Terrance Goodlett;; daughters-in-law, Pamela Garrett, Gahanna, Ohio and Pam (Lewis) Lapaugh, Tampa, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mabel was a life-long resident of Columbus, Ohio and a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She enjoyed playing cards, trying her luck at bingo, and creating beautiful ceramic art pieces which she freely shared with family and friends. Mabel was also an excellent cook who took great pleasure in hosting family meals. Her home was a warm haven of love and visitors never left without a plate of food or piece of art. Mabel was a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
