

Marcia Louise Stewart Clark, age 81, died on September 6, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Marcia was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 4, 1929. She graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1947. She attended The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1951. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was a kindergarten teacher at Tremont Elementary School in Upper Arlington from 1955-56. She was a lifelong and active member of First Community Church where she was involved with the Refugee Task Force, Guild X, and Family Circle; and had many lifetime friends in Couples Circle 13. She was active in many organizations including Childhood League, Women's Board of the Columbus Museum of Art, Buckeye Boys Ranch, the Daughter's of the American Revolution.
She will be remembered and deeply missed by many friends and family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, Marcia is preceded in death by her husband Dean Oscar Clark, her mother Lillian Zinn Stewart Cooperrider, her father John Edward Stewart, her stepfather Charles T. Cooperrider, and her sister Patricia Stewart Vesper. She is survived by her children John and Lauren Clark, Paula Clark, and Louise and Greg Johnston; four grandchildren, Evan and Elizabeth Clark and Ashley and Amanda Johnston; and nephew Richard Vesper. Visitation will be held from 5:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday September 10, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in the main sanctuary at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Rev. James Long officiating. A reception will follow the service.. A private interment will be held for the family at Greenlawn Cemetery.
