

Marcia Faith (Raymond) Tucker, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012. She was born in West Orange, New York on January 13, 1931 to the late Lawrence Austin and Ruth M. (Hall) Raymond. Marcia was a 1948 graduate of Springfield Senior High School and was a member of The National Honor Society. She attended Gottingen University in Germany from 1951-1952 and earned a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in 1953 and was a member of the German Honor Society. She married Robert Tucker on December 27, 1953. Marcia worked for Battelle Memorial Institute as a German translator and at Riverside Hospital as a Medical Library Assistant. She was a member of TWIGS of Children’s Hospital for 43 years serving as Chairman in 1967 for TWIG 87. She was a Tour Guide for WOSU Radio and TV Station earning two Spirit Awards. Marcia was on the ASH Advisory Board (OSU Board of Alumnae Scholarship Houses) and Chairman from 1976-1978. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Thadeus. Marcia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert L. Tucker; sons, Robert C. (Kimberly) Tucker and Bruce A. (Anne) Tucker; grandchildren, Sherry (Adam) McMurray, Robert, Bradly, Dustin, David, Patrick, and Lindsay Tucker; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Lawrence Austin (Jacqueline) Raymond and David Walter; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 3:00PM with visitation one hour prior at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd.
