

Margaret “Megan” Lowder Kauffman, age 39 of Bexley, passed away September 28, 2010. Megan was born and raised in Columbus, daughter of James “Peter” and Ann Lowder. Megan attended Bexley High School and the Columbus School for Girls, Class of 1989, and graduated with honors from Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina. Megan was the co-founder and creator of Peter Parker Educational Products, specializing in magnetic educational aides for mathematics and literacy. Megan was a free-spirited woman. She was brilliant, sensitive, generous, creative, and enthusiastic about learning and new endeavors. Her passions included creative gourmet cooking, literature, music and road trips. Though she cherished her home and family in Ohio she was “at home” in North Carolina. Children will remember her as a captivating storyteller, puppeteer, friend and confidant whose unconditional love empowered them to be themselves and to live their dreams. She will be missed by her adoring husband of 10 years, Andrew Kauffman; parents, James “Peter” and Ann Lowder; sisters, Lisa (John) Darke and Sarah Lowder, Rome, Italy; nieces and nephews, Hannah, Peter, and Parker Barends, and Tessa and Ella Darke; mother-in-law, Virginia (Gallen) Kauffman; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Kauffman and Molly Kauffman Marsh; brother-in-law, James Kauffman; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial Service will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Memorial Garden, 333 S. Drexel Ave. Rev. Michael Jupin officiating. Family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E.
