

Margaret was born in Delaware, Ohio on August 26, 1915 and grew up in Hyatts, Ohio. She was the first in her family to attend college, graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in English. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and The Wesleyan Players. After graduation, she taught English in Ostrander, Ohio and married Morris Taylor, whom she had known since elementary school. Margaret and Morris both taught school until Morris left to serve in World War II. After Morris returned from service, they moved to Columbus and raised a family of three boys.
As a homemaker and mother, Margaret focused on providing love and support for everyone in her family. She was active in various educational initiatives, a skilled bridge player and enjoyed a variety of sporting events – particularly those involving her sons and the Buckeyes. She was an active member in the Columbus Chapter of PEO: Philanthropic Educational Organization. Margaret lived in Upper Arlington for more than 40 years and attended North Broadway United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Kobersmith Circle. Most recently until her death she resided at Trillium Place in northwest Columbus.
Margaret’s husband Morris passed away in 1996. She is survived by her three sons and their families: Robert Taylor and his wife, Linda, of Ft Myers, FL; Thomas Taylor and his wife, Celia, of Rochester, NY; and Chuck Taylor and his wife, Cheryl Roller, of Columbus, OH. Margaret has five grandchildren Trisha (Mark) Hastings of Woodstock, GA; Terri (Brian) Noble of Johns Creek, GA; Tammy (Mark) Waterstreet of Powell, OH; Bradley (Jaime) Taylor of Royal Palm Beach, FL; and Trenton Taylor of Rochester, NY. Margaret has eight great grandchildren: Hayden & Trevor Hastings, Cassidy, Kaitlin & Allie Noble, and Weston, Maggie & Benjamin Waterstreet. Margaret is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Pinney and Evelyn Clark, both of whom live in the Columbus area, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received during evening visitation hours on Thursday, May 24 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, 43221. A second visitation and funeral service will be held at North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway, Columbus, 43214 on Friday May 25 beginning at 10:00am. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00, Rev. Deborah K. Stevens, officiating. Private interment in Dublin Cemetery.
