

Margaret “Maxine” Williams, age 90 of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Maxine was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the late Herbert and Kathryn Williams. Following graduation from Wheeling High School, Maxine went on to attend and graduate from Lambuth College, where she was a member of the woman’s tennis team. Throughout her life, Maxine had both lived and traveled the globe. During WWII, she worked for the American Red Cross overseas and when she returned home, she briefly settled in Colorado Springs and New York City, before ending up in the Columbus area. She will be missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Helen Williams; niece and nephew, Robert Williams and Kathryn (Mark) Marchese; great nieces and nephew, Matthew and Andria Marchese, and Cherise Williams; great great niece, Makayla Rose; and special friend, Jeanne Leitweiler. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, September 20, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of service. Pastor Eric Moehring and Pastor Richard Carson officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
