Marilyn M. Barker

Marilyn M. Barker, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024. Marilyn was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 8, 1929, the only child of the late Charles and Martha (Griep) Roehm. Also preceded in death by cousin Barbara (Don) Ashbrook. Marilyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Raymond E. Barker, MD. Together they enjoyed ballroom dancing, opera, and travelling the world. Marilyn will be deeply missed by her cousin Carolyn (Phil) Fulkerson and other extended family. Marilyn received her BS in Nursing from University of Cincinnati in 1951. In 1967 she received a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration from the Ohio State University. Later she managed her husband’s medical practice. Marilyn also held many volunteer positions with the Women’s Service Board of Grant Medical Center. Her favorite was co-chairing the Candy Cane Ball fundraiser. Marilyn was known for her hospitality and artistic abilities. She designed her own Christmas cards for over 70 years. Family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow at 4:00pm.
