Marilyn J. McCafferty, age 79, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 23, 1943. Marilyn was a graduate of Central High School, Class of January 1961. She retired from Columbus City Schools, where she worked for 40 years. She also was a supporter of the Humane Society and a volunteer at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 34 years, Patrick M. McCafferty; her parents, Ruth and Al Winegardner III; and her brother Al “Spud” Winegardner IV. She is survived by nieces, Melisa (Ron) Follrod, Melinda (Gregory) Pfadt, nephew Al “Butch” (Eileena) Winegardner V; great nieces and nephews, Robert Follrod, Anna (Jordan) Stevens, Cassandra Pfadt, Danny Spencer II, Zena “Nikki” Winegardner, Zachary Winegardner, and Leigha Winegardner; great great nephew, Jacob Stevens; great great niece Jae'la Goodman; sister in law, Mary Ellen Winegardner; brother in law, Regis McCafferty; cousins, Phil Sheridan and Georgia (Michael) Salwitz; life long friends, Joanna Ziemer, Fredricka Hessler, Nancy Abbott, and Diana Courtwright; and numerous other friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, July 29, 2022 at Heart & Hope by Schoedinger – Hilltop, 3030 West Broad Street, where friends will be received after 12 Noon, Friday, July 29, 2022.
