Marisa Ann Smock

Marisa Ann Smock, 19 died suddenly on May 6, 2015 from complications of severe asthma. Marisa was born on January 3, 1996, a 2014 graduate of Hilliard Davidson High School and a freshman at John Carroll University (JCU). She will be missed dearly by all that knew her, especially her parents Chad and Jill Smock, her older sister Lexi and her twin brother, Nick; her Grandparents Barney and Bev Dodson, Tom and Jane Smock and also Ben and Nora Povoli; plus her Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, Linda and Anthony Tempesta (Domenic & Luca), Gary Dodson (Tori & Bane) and Melanie Ciotti, Heather and Brian Oles (Winston) and hundreds of friends who were lucky enough to have known her forever or for just a moment. Marisa aspired to play college lacrosse and someday be a coach. She was a highly decorated Goalie for Hilliard Davidson and this year was a part of the JCU lacrosse team. She was school-spirit personified as she will forever be remembered in Hilliard for being THE Wildcat mascot with the best dance moves. She was a leader in school and in the Youth to Youth program. Never knowing a stranger, she gave of her gifts with her bright smile, infectious laughter, and big heart. Marisa did not judge a soul and strived to teach everyone she met to be themselves. Visitation hours will be Monday, May 11th from 1:00-7:00pm at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High St, Columbus, OH. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 12th at 4:00 pm at First Community Church South Campus, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus.
