Marjorie Sterling Mendenhall, age 92, of Upper Arlington, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, after a long life of caring for her family. She was born March 10, 1917 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Charles and Myrta (Dyer) Smith. She grew up in Urich, Missouri, and was a longtime resident of California. Preceded in death by husband, Walter E. Mendenhall; and siblings: Katherine Melchiorre, Myrta Hill, Charles Smith, and Ulysses Grant Smith. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Marie Mendenhall Mead (John); grandchildren: Jessica Sterling Mead and Gillian Dyer Mead; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Donald G. Gregory. There will be no services. Burial will take place in Urich, Missouri. Marjorie’s family would like to thank the staff at First Community Village and Senior Independent Hospice for their loving care and support.
