

Born on October 28, 1956, in Canton, Ohio, Mark was the son of George and Patricia Dillehay. He graduated from Sandy Valley High School in 1975 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from The Ohio State University in 1979. Shortly after graduation, he began his career as a Purchasing Agent with CompuServe. He continued his professional journey with Cherokee Inc. and later served as a Contract Specialist for the U.S. Federal Government, where he remained a dedicated employee until his retirement in 2022.
Mark had a deep passion for music and an unwavering interest in genealogy. He loved researching and discussing family history, pouring over old photos and publications, and capturing precious memories through his own photography. Mark’s love for his family was immeasurable—they were his rock. He cherished family vacations, time spent by the ocean, and the joy of discovering new restaurants and cuisines, always eager to experience new flavors and fresh seafood. Mark was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team, as well as the Cleveland Browns and Guardians. He celebrated each victory and lamented each defeat.
Mark and his beloved wife, Kathy, were married in 1979 and shared 46 wonderful years together. He is survived by their three children: Kelsey Dillehay McKillip (Nathan) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Caitlin Dillehay McCallum (Kyle) of Kent, Ohio; and Lucas James Dillehay of Columbus, Ohio. Mark also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Diane Rose McCallum, Joanna Fay McCallum, and Rowan Mark McCallum.
In addition, he is survived by his younger brother, Michael Dillehay (Penny) of Waynesburg, Ohio, and his younger sister, Kyra Yeager (Dwayne) of Newark, Ohio. Mark’s extended family includes many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mark’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, honoring his life and legacy.
Mark’s love, kindness, and devotion to his family and friends will forever be remembered. His spirit will live on in the countless memories he created and the love he shared with those around him.
