Martha Gardner

Martha F. (Wells) Gardner, 79, of Columbus, cruised into eternal life with God on June 11, 2010. Loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was born February 21, 1931 in Cincinnati. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert; her parents, William and Gertrude Wells; brother, Lester Wells; and sister, Virginia Wells. Martha will be missed by her 6 children, Michael and Suganya, Kathy and Tom Theado, Mark and Patricia, Diane and Dave Carolus, Rob and Lorie, and Teresa and Tom Davidson; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Roth; brother, David Wells; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Martha was an active member of St. Timothy Catholic Church since 1964. She enjoyed a lifetime of traveling, taking cruises, playing bridge, camping and spending time with family and friends. She had been active in the Girl Scouts and throughout her life volunteered with many organizations including the soup kitchen at St. Lawrence Haven. As a final act of giving Martha has donated her body to The Ohio State University Medical School. Martha’s family will receive friends from 5-8pm Thursday, June 17, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1pm Friday, June 18, 2010 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Fr. Ted Thomas, Celebrant.
