

Martha Robuck Morris, a longtime resident of Upper Arlington and recently of Friendship Village of Dublin, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. She was born May 1, 1914 in the small Welsh village of Gomer, Ohio. Daughter of the late Dr. O.S. and Margaret Thomas Robuck. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert J. Morris in 2004. Survived by daughter Margo Swan and son-in-law Lynn R. Swan of East Lansing, MI; son William R. (Bill) Morris and daughter-in-law Julie Morris, of Upper Arlington, OH; six grandchildren, Jennifer Swan Tascarella (Peter), Okemos, MI, Daniel Robuck Swan (Julia) of Chicago, IL, David Robert Swan (Marybeth) of Woodbury, MN, and Rebecca Jane Swan of East Lansing, MI, Abigail Noelle Morris and Emma Robuck Morris of Upper Arlington, OH. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and gramma devoted to her family as well as her many friends. Martha, a graduate of Denison University, Granville, OH was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, Delta Omicron music honorary, Mortar Board Senior Honorary and former teacher at Horace Mann Junior High, Lakewood, OH. After marriage in 1946 and a move to Columbus, she and Robert became members of First Community Church in 1947. Martha was a past member of the Governing Board, Charter member and past President of Guild Group N, and past President of the Women’s Guild Board and Couple Circle 7. Active in community affairs, she was a member of First Sustaining Board of Central Community House, longtime member of Life Care Alliance Service Board (Meals on Wheels), Welsh Society of Central Ohio Board, Allen County Historical Society of Lima, OH, Order of Eastern Star # 26, Delphos, OH and over 60 year member of AAUW (American Association of University Women). The family would like to extend a special thank you to friends and staff at Friendship Village of Dublin for the respect, comfort and care shown to our mother and gramma, as well as the kindness to our family over the years. The burial will be in Gomer Cemetery in Gomer, OH with Pastor Brian Knoderer officiating. Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 16 at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus, OH, with Rev. James Long officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
