Mary Maxine Broughton

Mary Maxine (Richard) Broughton passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the age of 85. She was born February 1, 1933 in Otway, Ohio to the late Reverend Archie E. and Alice (Noxsel) Richard.

Retired from Ohio Bell/AT&T and Forest Park Christian School. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers. Maxine volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House for 28 years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for over 50 years. Maxine was a member of North Church of Christ in Christian Union. She enjoyed reading books, working crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy! Maxine loved spending time with her family and with her beloved dog, Michael.

Preceded in death by Paul Broughton, her beloved husband of 55 1/2 years. Parents Reverend Archie (A.E.) and Alice (Noxsel) Richard, 5 brothers, Bryce, Russell, David, Charles and Robert Richard and 1 sister, Alma Hale. Survived by 1 brother, Howard (Arlene) Richard and 1 sister Nancy (Jim) Lynd.

Maxine is also survived by her 2 loving daughters Janet (Greg) Hobbs and Judi Jordan. 5 very special grandchildren, John (Jill), Chad (Sam), Hobbs, Jesse Bruck, Jamie (John) Guthmann, Molly Bruck and 4 great grandchildren, Josh, Xavier, Trever and Logan Hobbs and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd, The funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at North Church of Christ in Christian Union, 5600 Karl Rd, where additional visitation will be held from 10-11am, Pastor Kevin Behrer officiating. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, New Albany.
