Mary Cowgill

Mary Cowgill, age 84, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Worthington Christian Village. She was born on April 20, 1936 in Columbus, the daughter of Wayne and Anna (Hathaway) Holmes. Mary retired from The Ohio State University following 33 years of service. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who always greeted everyone she met with a smile. She will be dearly missed by all. Mary is survived by her sons, Douglas Cowgill, of Walled Lake, MI and Jeffrey Cowgill, of Traverse City, MI; grandsons, Joshua (Jennifer), Joel (Lizzie) and Ross (Tracie); great grandchildren, Sebastian, Isabella, Caiden, Samuel, Mallory, Owen, Ella and Elliot; brother, Ramon (Lilian) Holmes and sister, Donna Meinhart; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many dear friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Gene Cowgill, parents, Wayne and Anna Holmes and son, Gary Cowgill. Mary was a faithful attender and found such joy in participating in all activities held at Worthington Christian Village. She was an avid Buckeye fan and loved watching all sports. Mary enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends and was such a bright light to all of our lives. A private graveside service will be held in memory of Mary Cowgill.
