Mary Catherine "Katie" Lawson, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on October 4, 1939 to the late George and Mary Kern. Katie retired from Columbus Metropolitan Library after 19 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church where she was Music Director for many years. Katie enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, and old movies. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry Lawson; son, Brian Lawson; grandchildren, Garrett and Gabriel; brother, Jim Kern; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at HEART AND HOPE BY SCHOEDINGER, 3030 West Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 10:00AM at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Hague Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Rev. Dr. Don Wallick officiating.
