

Mary Ellen “Poke” Radcliff, 78, of Circleville passed away peacefully at her home on January 4, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born April 29, 1933 in Circleville, the daughter of the late Albert C. and Nina (Hinson) Reid. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dudley G. Radcliff; in-laws, Carl K. and Bessie Radcliff; sisters, Gloria Watkins, Loretta “Jane” Stonerock and Biddy Moorehead; and a dear niece, Debbie (Stonerock) Darnell.
Mary Ellen is survived by her four children; sons, Richard (Carol) Radcliff of LaPorte, Texas and Reggie (Cindy Bair) Radcliff of Circleville; daughters, Nancy (Mark Skinner) Radcliff of Circleville and Susan (Brad) Gifford, also of Circleville; grandchildren, Duane (Sara) Radcliff of Wheatridge, Colorado, Joey (fiancée Ashley Brown) Radcliff of Gahanna, Jesse (Tracy and Ian) Virgin of Circleville and Kelsey (James) Marshall of Circleville; great-granddaughter, Kallie Marshall; sister, Linda (Don) Harden of Circleville; several nieces and nephews and many special friends including Ruth Rihl, Ann Adkins, Mac and Evon Schumm. Mary Ellen was a graduate of the Circleville High School Class of 1951. She enjoyed her monthly breakfast gatherings with her classmates and always looked forward to helping out at the 50’s picnic for C.H.S. graduates. Mary Ellen was retired from the JC Penney Catalog Outlet Store and most recently retired this past October from the Circleville Kroger Store. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the Circleville Pumpkin Show, where she enjoyed working in the souvenir booth. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Mary Ellen’s niece, Pastor Kym Timberlake James officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice, 1170 N. Court St., Ste.
