

Mary Elizabeth Van Horn, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2013 after a courageous battle with diabetes. She was born October 7, 1931 in Marysville to the late John and Pearl (Rollison) Pfarr; also preceded in death by 6 brothers and a sister. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Van Horn; daughters, Rhonda Van Horn, Marilyn Coffey (Frank Gill) and Norma (Doug) Allton; grandchildren, Rob Hill, Josh Bow (Bridney Wood-Bow) and Brittany (Nick) Hensley; great-grandchild, Hailey Hensley; numerous nieces, nephews and members of the Van Horn family. She was a faithful member of Linden Lutheran Church for many years. Known to many as “The Candy Lady”, her positive outlook on life encouraged everyone she met. Mary was an avid Buckeye fan, loved her pets, including the squirrels and birds who she kept well fed, and above all loved her family. Visitation will be held 4-8pm Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where services will be held at 10am Friday, March 1, 2013; interment to follow in Lithopolis Cemetery; Rev. Dr. G. Karl Gaston, presiding.
