

Mary Martha Way, age 85 of Columbus, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 27, 2010 after a battle with pneumonia. Mary was born December 30, 1924 in Cambridge, OH, daughter to the late Peter and Nancy McKay. After graduating from St. Benedict High School, Mary lived and worked at her Aunt Susan Burge’s flower shop in Newcomerstown. She moved to Columbus and worked at the Dept. of Taxation, where she met her husband, Charles Way. They were married for 50 years when he passed away in 1998. Mary loved cooking family dinners and hosting the family during the Holidays. She was involved in several bridge clubs. Mary was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. Mary cherished the time spent with her family, passing on her love for flowers, and her joy for cooking. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles; brothers, John “Jack” and Peter McKay; sister, Suzanne Longenbaker; and aunt, Susan Burge. Mary will be missed by her loving children, Chuck (Karen), Amy, and David Way; grandchildren, Michelle, Adam and Maxwell Way; great-grandson, Kaden; brother, Bernard (Beverly) McKay of Maryland; and sisters-in-law, Beth McKay of Cambridge, Pauline Grasley and Dorothy Way of Marietta. Many special nieces and nephews and dear friends. Long time loving best friend, Martha Foster. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Friday, July 2, 2010 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus, Fr. James T. Smith, Celebrant. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a prayer service at 6:30pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH.
