Mattie Frances Stills

Mattie Frances Stills at the age of 70 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at First Community Village. Mattie Stills was born to the union of John and Ora Stills on November 7, 1939 in Monroe, Georgia. She was the youngest of six children and was nicknamed “Pie” by her father John. She was known as his Sweetie Pie. On March 13, 1962 she was blessed with her daughter Gail who she loved and cherished. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ora Stills, sister, Effie Mae Shank, brother, Sammy Lee Stills, and nephew, Monte Bailey. Mattie loved her family and enjoyed having cookouts and family gatherings. She was known for her famous cooking of many recipes. She was baptized at St. Mark Baptist church. Her places of employment where Marriot/Hilton Hotel and Willards Restaurant. She is survived by her loving daughter, Gail Stills; sisters, Mildred O. Stills, Thelma Bailey; brother, John (Betty) Stills, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12 P.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of service. Pastor Elder Dane Clark officiating.
