Maureen A. (Kinehan) Dunlap, 66 of New Albany Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family August 22, 2020.
She was the youngest girl in a family of seven; proud to have been an Army "brat" and fond of all their travels together - especially the pastures of Germany and the springs in Columbus, Georgia. She was a graduate of DeSales where she was on the drill team. As a child, she took accordion lessons, a skill that came in handy when she entertained her own children and grandchildren. A member of St. James the Less, she was married in the church. Later when Maureen and Gary moved to New Albany to build a life, family, and business together, she became a member of the Church of the Resurrection parish. Maureen was known for her quick wit and sassy sense of humor, her love of dancing, OSU football, and all things Irish. After Gary's passing, her heart was torn between worlds, that of her children and that of her husband's. Her faith and family kept her strong. And when she was blessed with grandkids her spirit was renewed. She loved cooking and naturally took care of others before herself. She took great joy in her family being together, especially at Thanksgiving.
Maureen is preceded in death by her mother (Anne Kinehan), father (Vincent Kinehan), husband (Gary Dunlap), niece (Rachel Kinehan), nephew (Hayden Whitfield), and great-nephew (Dillon Morgan).
She leaves behind her children Kathleen Dunlap, Colleen (Stuart) Campbell, Casey Dunlap, and Candace (Brian) Bobinger; grandchildren Jayden, Ella, Brooklyn, Greyson, Rielyn, and Cash; siblings Gloria (Steve) Walker, Bill (Linda) Kinehan, Donna (Harold) McKinney, Kathleen (David) Morgan, Francis (Mary Souder) Kinehan, and Ronald (Pam) Kinehan. She also had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that she loved dearly.
Family will receive friends from 4-7pm Thursday, August 27 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30am Friday, August 28 at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1652 Oakland Park Ave, Columbus.
If you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
