Maxine Nelson

Maxine Nelson, age 82 of Columbus, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018. Maxine was born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late George W. and Sarah Jane (Pruitt) Tagg. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Allen Nelson and sister, Georgia George. Maxine graduated from Portsmouth High School, Class of 1954. She worked at various companies throughout her career before retiring from Palmer-Donavin. She enjoyed talking with friends, playing cards, and reading, but most of all, she loved being a grandmother and cherished that title. She will be greatly missed by her loving son, Christopher (Angela) Nelson; granddaughter, Katherine Nelson; brother, William Tagg; and other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until time of service. Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday at Scioto Burial Park, McDermott, Ohio.
