Maxine W. Plumb

Johree Maxine (Watson) Plumb was born January 20, 1922 to the late Lewis and Ozella Mae (Smith ) Watson. She passed on Wednesday, April 24th, 2013. She married Francis H. Plumb; June 21st, 1948. She graduated from The Ohio State University; Autumn 1968. Maxine taught elementary school for the Columbus School District at Avondale for over 20 years. She delivered meals for the LifeCare Alliance "Meals on Wheels " for over twenty years and received numerous awards for her volunteer service including the "Living Faith Award" in 2002, along with acknowledgements from" The City of Columbus", "State of Ohio" and the "White House". She was an active member of the Grove City United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Francis and survived by daughter, Julia Beth Llewellyn, sons Michael and wife Deborah Plumb, Patrick F. Plumb, David G. Plumb, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Family will receive friends today from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery.
