

Maxine VanDyne, age 97, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010. Maxine was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Conner. Also preceded in death by her husband, Harry VanDyne, daughter, Paulette Thurlo; brothers, William and James Conner, and sisters, Phyllis Manion and Constance Weidman. She was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, where she earned a rank of Sergeant and worked at the Pentagon. Following her time in the service, Maxine worked in retail sales and focused much of her time and energy on her loving family. Her dedication to her family was only surpassed by her love for them. She will be missed by her sons, Harry (Mary), James (Ellen), and Terry (Bambi) VanDyne; daughters, Priscilla Kandis, Donna Robertson, Judy (Daniel) Kolich, Linda (Ronald) Hadorn, and Beth (Robert) Brake; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 5225 Refugee Rd. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M.
