

Melinda Lee Alvoid, age 40 of Ashville, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Hazel Alvoid, and “father-in-law,” Samuel Peyton. Melinda was born and raised in the Columbus area. She graduated from both Groveport Madison High School and Eastland Vocational School. Throughout Melinda’s life, her children and family was the most important thing to her, and she was known as “The World’s Best Mom.” She had a very fun and pleasant personality and would help anyone in need. Her door was always open to all and she usually entertained a full house. Melinda particularly enjoyed spending time following her children’s sporting activities; she was their number one cheerleader in both sports and life. She will be missed by her loving partner of more than 20 years, Rodney Peyton; children, Rodney Peyton II, Lindsey Peyton, and Brandon Flaherty; grandson, Connor Flaherty; mother, Jeannette (Ralph Spencer) Ivery; father, Harold Ivery; siblings, Harold “Skip” (Heather) Ivery and Sean Ivery, LaTrell Spencer, La’monte Spencer, and LaChelle Spencer; aunt, Yvonne Good; cousins who were more like sisters, Stephanie Mullins and Tia (Jerry) Andersen; best friend Diane Wilkinson and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday.
