Mery L. Gong

Mery L. Gong, age 85, of Columbus, died Sunday, February 12, 2016 at Brookdale at Chestnut Hill. She was born on June 14, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Wing and Swee (Woo) Gong. She graduated from Collingwood High School and received a Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. Mery retired from The Ohio State University as Associate Director of Information Technology after many years of service. She is survived by a brother; other relatives and many friends. Mery was a big Buckeye fan who lit up every time the Buckeyes played. She enjoyed her friendships made at Brookdale especially when Brutus and the OSU cheerleaders would visit and chant O-H-I-O. She enjoyed crafting, ice cream sundaes and activities at Brookdale, swing music and watching TV, especially sports. In her younger days, she used to run track and be a marathon runner.
