

Michael D. Burrows, age 62, of Orient, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at his home. He was born in Camino, California on September 13, 1948 to the late George C. and Katherine (Foy) Burrows, he grew up and attended school in Placerville, California. He will be missed by his wife of 33 years, Anna Burrows; daughters, Angela (Don) Bruce, Stephanie Burrows, and Carolyn Burrows, grandson, Carlos John Bruce; and sister, Mary Burrows. Michael served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of California at Berkeley and received his Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from the University of Arizona. While at the University of Arizona he had the privilege of working under Dr. Willis E. Lamb, Nobel Laureate, Physics. During his career he worked as a Laser Physicist for Los Alamos National Labs and Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Dayton, Ohio. His interests included classical music, Russian literature, and building model airplanes and battleships. He was a member of Middletown Sportsmen Club where he enjoyed target shooting. Most of all Michael enjoyed spending time with his family.
