

Michael A. Quillen, age 59, passed away at home on Thursday, June 9, 2011. He was born in Columbus on December 28, 1951, and was a graduate of Groveport Madison High School, class of 1969. After school, he served our country in the US Air Force as a Morse code interceptor during the Vietnam War. For most of his working years, Mike was a printer for National Graphics, and then for Ohio Printing. In younger years, he was in a bowling league and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed trips across the country on his Harley-Davidson, and he loved to watch the Buckeyes, Browns, and NASCAR. Mike also loved music and computer gadgets, and he enjoyed playing video games. He was very competitive and hated to lose. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth and Michael M. Quillen; mother, Ruth Carter; sister, Sharon (Joseph Jr.) Wodzisz; step-siblings, Gary (Connie) Carter, Melody (Scott) Palsgrove, and Monica Carter; niece, Dee Scott and her son Dylan; and many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick H. Quillen; and brother Kile M. Quillen. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E.
