Mildred E. Orr

Mildred E. Orr, 84, of Gahanna, passed away on January 24 peacefully at her home. She was born November 1, 1929 in Meigs County, Ohio to Chrissie and Clara Powell who preceded her in death. Her husband Starling Orr; grandson, Thomas Atwood; and sister, Dorthy Spencer also preceded her death.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She came to Columbus in 1945 and worked at various jobs. She was a member of Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna.

She is survived by daughter, Arlene Atwood Andre and son-in-law, Jack Andre of Cape Coral, Florida; son, Edwin P. Orr of Port Huron, Michigan; daughter, Jacqueline Beatty and son-in-law, John Beatty of Gahanna, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Jason Clegg, Edwin Paul Orr II, John Thomas Beatty, Jeremy Beatty, Sherri Vivone, Michele Andre, Marc Atwood, Jessica Orr, Brittney Orr Werner, and Amber Orr; 9 great-grandchildren, Thera Atwood Evans, Erica Atwood, John Andrew Ferguson, Haley Vivone, Stewart Atwood, Hannah Vivone, Garrett Atwood, Mason Werner, Kerira Orr; 2 great-great grandchildren, Keegan and Emerson Evans; sister, Eleanora Davis of Racine, Ohio; brother-in-law, Maurice Orr; sister-in-law, Mary Orr; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna, OH and again Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Pastor Tim Swanson, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
