Mildred Marie Young

Mildred Marie (Millie Ragland) Young. Born on December 1, 1932 called home to be with our Lord and Savior Saturday March 21st 2015 with her family at her side. Born in Columbus Ohio, she was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church at the age of nine and continued to be a member until her passing. She sang in the Heavenly Echo choir, and played the piano for the children's choir as well, being self-taught she had "magic fingers" and could play anything by ear. Millie graduated from Central High School in 1952 and furthered her education at Bliss Business College. She had multiple jobs, and retired in 1991 after 29 years of service with The Ohio Bell Phone Company. Millie enjoyed being with her family and traveling the world. Now let's talk about her cakes and pies! Everyone knows it is impossible to have just one piece of either of the two. She always had a smile on her face and made sure that everyone left her with a smile on theirs. Preceded in death by parents Percy and Lucille Ragland, husband Donald Young, two sisters Thelma Barnes, Dorothy Palmer, one brother Lawrence, two brother-in-laws Harold Palmer, William (Nick) Hanks, and one sister-in-law Roberta Ragland. Survived by, loving and devoted sons Alfred (Sandra), Donnie (Daryl Nicole), special son Calvin (Joyce) Warren, and sister-in-law Anita Hanks. Grandchildren, Dont'e (Arturo), Tapr'e, Auston, and A'Dreus. Great grandchildren Niya and Kai. Brother's Percy, Harold (Lucille), Lloyd (Saundra), sister's Juanita Zimmerman, and Welma Sutton. Lovelying appointed grandchildren LC Warren, and Monique White. Godchildren Lawrence, Calvin, and Stacy Goodwin; and host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. We would also like to thank Fire Station #11, Riverside Hospital Emergency Department, Pastor Chapman, and the Social Worker for their great service. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1015 Chambers Road and again Friday, March 27, 2015 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Frazier officiating. Entombment will follow at Union Cemetery 3349 Olentangy River Rd.
