

Myron Vrona, age 81, passed away peacefully with family by his side Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Myron was born on August 30, 1936 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania to the late Peter and Anna Vrona, who raised 5 children. In addition to his parents, Myron was preceded in death by his lifetime companion, Susan Law; two older sisters, Olga Vrona and Vera Holzer; and older brother, John. He is survived by his brother, Pete; and numerous nieces and nephews. Myron met Susan in March 1962 and continued their wonderful relationship until her death in 2016. Myron graduated from Shamokin High School in 1954 and pursued a career in Aerospace. He started with North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio in 1955 and moved to Lockheed Martin Company in 1960 spending 43 years with Lockheed and retiring in 2003 in New Orleans, LA. During his 30 years with Lockheed in New Orleans, Myron had key assignments on the space shuttle external tanks. He was chosen by Lockheed to be one of their representatives for early shuttle launches at Cape Canaveral. He and Susan had a great time together visiting many places including casinos in the New Orleans and Atlantic City area. Myron was a perfect gentleman, was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
