Noel D. Harris

Noel graduated from Matthews High School in Matthews, Missouri. After graduation he went to Arkansas State University where he earned a Bachelor's in Science and became an Engineer. Noel went to work for Western Electric in 1963 and retired from Lucent Technologies after 35 years. He loved his family, friends, and community. Noel Volunteered countless hours for the New Albany Youth Leagues, New Albany athletics, and other youth-related organizations. In 2016, he was inducted in the New Albany Hall of Fame, recognizing many years of volunteer service.

Noel is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred Harris, Ronny Harris, and Garry Harris; sister-in-law, Jean (Reid) Harris.

Noel is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Harris; children, Deana (Jeff) White, Stan (Michelle) Harris, Suzie (John) Cooper, Cliff (Anita) Harris; grandchildren, Rachel (Andrew) Mankin, Kristen (Sean) Murphy, Lindsay, Nick, Coby, Chrissy, Jordan, Zach, Joey, Drew, Grant, and Chase; brother, Billy Harris of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday May 24, 2018 from 5-8pm at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230; where a service will be on Friday May 25, 2018 at 10am. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany.
