

Nora Vilma (Pinzon) Pfauntsch passed away on December 11, 2025 in Dublin, Ohio at age 94. Born in Panama City, Panama, February 28, 1931, to the late Jose and Saldana (Sanchez) Pinzon, she grew up with her five siblings and completed her primary school and high school in Panama. She was employed by the US Military as a secretary in Panama and traveled to the US after her first marriage to William Wayne Hopwood. She divorced after her son Richard was born and met a young Airman, Maximilian Karl Pfauntsch coming from Germany. They both became US citizens and married in Salina, Kansas in 1957. Nora had three other children with Max. She and her 4 children moved with Max to his different duty stations which included Torrejon Air Force Base in Spain for 5 years, Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, and in 1978 to Ramstein Air Force Base, Ramstein, Germany. Nora and Max lived in Germany for 44 years with most of that time in Neunkirchen am Potzberg, eventually moving to Dublin, Ohio in 2022 before Max’s death in 2023 after 66 years of marriage. While in Bellevue, Nebraska she worked in childcare and as a care partner in a nursing facility. Nora was very talented in the arts producing works including oil paintings, sculptures, and ceramic creations. Her hobbies included dancing, sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, and antiquing. She was known to be quick witted and feisty. She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed. Nora is survived by her 4 children Richard, Erika, Maxine and Meta, her grandsons Chase and Sage, and her great grandson, Jack. Nora was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Private services will be held.
