Orpha M. Hatfield

Orpha M. Hatfield (Hanson), 86, was received into the arms of the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2014. "For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. Orpha was born July 5, 1927 in Indiana to the late Eva and Vern Hanson. Orpha was a dedicated and beloved Christian, homemaker, mother, foster mother of 30 plus children, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Preceded in death by spouses, Carl Smyers, Richard Miller and Reynolds Hatfield, siblings Ralph, Dessie, Joe, Harry, Ray and John, daughter-in-law Sharon Smyers and great grandson Dustin Graham. Orpha will be deeply missed by her loving children, Carl Smyers and Kathleen (Michael) Flick, siblings Anna Berridge, Gene Hanson, Hazel McMahon, Florence Slonaker and Kenny Hanson. Adoring grandchildren Marty Flick, Barry (Tondra) Graham, Robert (Lori) Graham, Carla (Bruno) Pellegrini, great grandchildren Tabatha Graham, Brittany, Cody and Chadwin Graham, Salvatore and Vincenzo Pellegrini, numerous extended family members. Special friend and neighbor Deb and kids, Elijah, Matthew, Lauren and Baraka, caregiver Christol. Family and friends may join together to remember Orpha from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12 PM, Friday, February 7, 2014 at Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church, 3868 North Stygler Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL assisting the family. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice.
