Patricia Doherty

Patricia Doherty, 89, of Columbus, OH, formerly of West Long Branch, NJ, peacefully passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was born to the late George and Gertrude Smith in Minneapolis, MN on April 24, 1924. Patricia was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, First Community Village Literary Society, and the Republican Party. She loved dogs and will be remembered for teaching everyone she met how to make a proper martini. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; daughter, Jane Lyke; son-in-law, Greg Lyke; 4 siblings; and beloved dog, Betsy. She is survived by her loving daughters, Karen (Mark) Smith and Sue (Brian) Pollner; 4 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. A special thanks to Ohio Health Hospice and Kobacker for making mom's last days comfortable and pain free. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1420 Grandview Ave., Columbus, OH 43212, where family will receive friends an hour prior to Mass. Msgr. John K. Cody, Celebrant. Interment will occur at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport, NJ.
