Patricia M. Heston, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Mount Carmel Grove City. Born on October 23, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Montgomery. Pat retired after 28 years of dedicated service with Time Warner Cable, now known as Spectrum.
In 1968, Pat was honored as the Hilltop Bean Dinner Queen, a reflection of her lifelong connection to her community. She had a deep love for plants and flowers—her home, lovingly filled with greenery, resembled a lush indoor garden thanks to her remarkable green thumb. Pat was also a creative spirit. She wrote a book titled Treasured Thoughts, Reflections of Life which she illustrated with her own paintings, learning to paint specifically for that purpose. Pat will be remembered most for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering belief in paying it forward. She had a unique gift for recognizing others with heartfelt, personal notes and inspiring everyone around her to “be the good” in the world. Her legacy of compassion, creativity, and quiet strength will continue to live on through her family and all who were touched by her life.
Preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Montgomery and Elizabeth Davies; step-father, Raymond Davies; son, Brian Heston and brother, Ronald Montgomery. Survived by her husband, Robert J. Heston; loving son, Bradley (Karen) Heston; cherished grandchildren, Hayley Heston (Coty Jones), Zachary Heston (Makya Palmer), Sandy Nininger, Madison (Jacob) Dykes and McKenzie Heston (Gavin Wasson); great grandson, Luc Warner; sister, Karen Brokaw (Ralph Ferguson); many other relatives and friends.
A gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Fr. Michael Watson officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen in her memory.
