

Patrick W. Hollern, age 69 of New Albany, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014. Pat was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Richard and Margaret Hollern. Also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hollern. Pat graduated from Bishop Hartley High School, Class of 1963. Pat was a real entrepreneur, who worked for an airline, air cargo company, owned Columbus Air Delivery, mortgage, trucking freight sales and many other endeavors. He was a member of Church of the Resurrection, New Albany Rotary Club, and was a Board Member of the Institute for Human Services. Pat loved the Buckeyes. In addition, he was passionate about New Albany girl's basketball. He was instrumental in growing and helped develop their girls basketball program. Those who knew Pat would describe him as a good Irishman who was a genuine and kind man who loved his family above all else. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 28 years, Cheri Hollern; children, Sean (Pam) Hollern, Shannon (John) Parsons, Brian Hollern, and Michelle (Dustin) Hill; grandchildren, Olivia, Aiden, Maeve, Brooks, Delaney, and one on the way; sister, Mary Alice (Tim) Fricke; bother, Tim (Mary Ann) Hollern; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Friday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Father Jerome P. Rodenfels, Celebrant. Private family inurnment to be held at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
