Paul R. Heeter, affectionately known as Uncle Paul, 74, of Circleville, departed from this life November 27, 2014. Paul was born April 9, 1940 in Circleville, Ohio to the late Alfred and Edith (Pritchard) Heeter, Sr. He graduated as valedictorian of his Circleville High School class in 1958. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army who worked as an engineer, eventually retiring from GE after working with the company in Chicago, Texas and North Carolina. Paul went on to work in various part time positions – most recently as a tax preparer and golf course attendant. Paul enjoyed life the most when he was on the golf course. He was a voracious reader and hilariously funny entertainer who kept his family and friends on their toes with his non-stop quick wit. Nothing rattled Uncle Paul – not even the health challenges he faced in the last several years. He’ll be remembered, in large measure, by his 2 famous lines – “No problem” and “You miss me?” Paul’s outgoing personality and kind spirit deeply impacted his friends and family. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. Paul enjoyed an especially close relationship with his sister, Minerva (Adams) Smith and her husband, Claude Smith and felt deeply indebted to his nieces, Billie Barnes and Diane Adams who unselfishly assisted him through the medical challenges he faced in the last several years. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia Heeter; his siblings, Elizabeth “Mae” Beavers and Alfred S. Heeter, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Denny E. Adams; and nephews, Bart E. Adams and Arnold S. Heeter. Paul is survived by his sister, Minerva (Claude) Smith; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Heeter; his many nieces and nephews whom he adored and who equally adored him; along with his treasured great nieces and great nephews. Pursuant to his wishes, Paul was cremated. Paul’s family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life party at Goodwin’s Family Restaurant, 214 Lancaster Pike in Circleville on Friday, December 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Arrangements were made with Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
