Paul David Parker

Paul David Parker Sr., age 80, died April 25, 2017. He was a devoted husband, great father, and an even better Papaw. Paul was born November 23, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio and was preceded in death by his father, Harry D. Parker and mother, Lillith Gordon; also preceded in death by his brother Richard "Bud" Parker and sisters, Barbara Drosos and Sandra Wheeler. Paul is survived by his faithful wife of 60 years, Alice (Harness) Parker; sons, Paul Parker and Michael Parker; daughter Robin (Dennis) Hopper; grandchildren, Danielle Parker, Paul Parker III, DJ Hopper Jr. (Kristina Schoonard), Jonathan (Cortney) Hopper; great-grandchildren, Ava, Parker and Caylynn Hopper and Nevaeh Cochran; daughter-in-law Kim Parker; siblings, Harry "Skeet" (Phyllis) Parker, Charles (Gail) Parker, Rosetta "Sis" Crosby; sister-in-law Charlotte Parker; brother-in-law Mike Melfi and many nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply. Paul had a very strong work ethic, and retired from Timken Roller Bearing with 30 years of service; he was a member of Pipefitters Local Union #189. His family, especially his grandchildren, were his everything. Per his wishes, private family services entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis TN 38105-9959.
