Pauline J. McLaughlin

Pauline J. (Altiere) McLaughlin, age 95, of Pickerington, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was born on July 10, 1924 in Norton, West Virginia, a daughter of Leonard and Emilia (Pratt) Altiere. She was a 1941 graduate of Coalton (WV) High School. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John (Cam) McLaughlin; sisters, Stella Altiere, Pearl O'Brien, Lena Moore, Jeannette McGee, Virginia Stoffel and brothers, Robert Altiere, Tom Altiere, Leo Altiere and Pat Altiere. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Paula Saunders and Robert Elswick; grandson, Zachary Saunders and granddaughter, Angela Saunders (Becky). Also survived by a sister, Frances Shinaberry; a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Pauline began as a cashier with Neales Drug Store in Elkins, WV. In Columbus, she was a long distance operator with Ohio Bell Telephone Company for several years and a PBX operator at Columbus Ramada Inn North for several years. Pauline was a volunteer at Mount Carmel East Hospital in the gift shop for several years. She was a resident at Pickerington Nursing and Rehab since 2011. Family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Thursday, October 24, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where a prayer service will begin at 5:30 pm with Deacon Hector Raymond. Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, October 25, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E.
